Honda reveals two new ‘0 Series’ EVs to be produced in Ohio

In this article, Honda Motor unveiled its newest electric vehicles at the CES tech conference in Las Vegas. The vehicles, the Honda 0 Saloon and the Honda 0 SUV, are prototypes set to be produced at a multibillion-dollar manufacturing complex in central Ohio. These “0 Series” vehicles are intended for customer production, with expected launch in North America in 2026. The SUV will be released first, followed by the Saloon. Specific details like pricing, range, and performance were not disclosed by Honda.

The exteriors of the new vehicles feature futuristic designs different from Honda’s current models. The 0 Series vehicles are developed based on three core principles: “Thin, light, and wise.” Lance Woelfer, vice president of American Honda Motor automobile sales, mentioned that feedback from last year’s revealed vehicles influenced the new models, providing additional confidence to the automaker.

Honda also introduced a new vehicle operating system for the 0 Series called “Asimo OS,” offering highly automated driving technologies like hands-free driving. Asimo OS will be integrated into all Honda 0 Series models, including the SUV and Saloon production models. The impact of the planned merger between Honda and Nissan Motor on the company’s product plans remains uncertain.

The unveiling of the 0 Series EVs came after Honda’s collaboration with Sony, known as Afeela, revealed its first EV model, the AFEELA 1. This car is expected to be available for sale in California this year, with deliveries starting in 2026. California, being the largest EV market in the country, often sees new EV models launched first to boost sales and comply with the state’s stringent fuel economy and emissions standards. The AFEELA 1 sedan will come in two trims, with prices starting at $89,900.
